The Great Escape

This movie is about the large number of captives escape from the prison camp in Germany during World War II. And this story made from true story.
It is long film but I like it.

The reason I chose this movie is because I love this movie's main music.
When I listen it, it'll cheer me up.
It's very famous so probably everyone know it.
The story is about war but the music is so bright and also it doesn't have so much scene that people are killed.
Therefore sometime I forgot that I'm watching the movie about war.
From this maybe it is more easy for kids to see it.

The first half of this movie, it shows us suspense and humour in the prison.
Also we could see an American culture so it was interesting.
The later half it shows some action sceane after they escaped.
Scene which a man run away with motorcycle was cool!!
I felt like watching action movie.

Finally, I think this movie teach us very important thing.
Those men who attempt an escape have the strong sprit and they didn't give up even if it is difficult to success or the plan didn't go well.
If they got dameges they'll stand up again and again.
The sprit of challenging and never give up, moves people's heart.
I think this is the reason that many people still loves this movie!!

My Fair Lady

I love this movie!! It was long movie but, I forgot the time.
This movie was musical movie and I love those songs.

I love the story too.
In this movie, Professer Higgins tells about the importance of the way of speaking English.
I agree with him.
I think language is important in the life. It is same in Japan too.
If there's a person who use bueatiful Japanese, I feel like that person has a good education and I wanna be a friend.
On the other hand, if there's a person who use bad Japanese I don't want to be a friend of that person.
Language describe the person's character.
Though I also agree with Eliza, at the last scene she said if person treated her like a lady she'll be lady. I think that's right.
I really recommend this movie!!

The misson

When I heard the word "misson", I thought it just mean "an important job that someone has been given to do". Though it also mean "the work of a religious leader or organization that has gone to a foreign country in order to teach people about Christianity or to help people". This film begin with the priest teach Indians about Christianity.

I don't believe particular religion so, when I read some world history book or watch religious movie I always surprise at how they have an enthusiasm for their religion. This movie starts from the man killed by Indian. Even their friend was killed, they try to spread Christianity again and again. I like the scene that Gabriel met Granie at the first time. They try to kill him but he impress them by playing the oboe. I learn that if you want to tell someone or some countries your opinion, you should study that culture or what he is intrest in.

From the half of the movie, the story will be the battle between Spanish and Portuguese colonizers and the Jesuit priests. Granie succeed to make peaceful society and economical success. Though it become Portuguese land so they have to move from their land. I felt sorry for them because they had their own society but it all broken by the powerful country. At the same time I felt upset. They are same human being but they don't have rights.

Finally, the end of the movie the guy said "The sprit of dead will alive in memory" and there were subtitle that is writtin about there are still Native people who are fighting with the rights. It made me notice that this movie is not past story, it is still continuing.

The Day After Tommorow

Have you ever seen this movie? This movie is about global warming. These days “Global Warming” is very serious problem in the world. Though in this movie, it happen opposite thing. World will be in the “Ice Age”.

When I saw this movie, I felt really scary. It shows us how we don’t have power against the great nature forces. In this movie, before the “Ice Age” comes, it shows a lot of nature disasters. What made me scare is that those kind of strange things are really happing in the real world. For example, in 2003, Europe had extremely hot days, in China there are some drought and flood etc. Also in Japan we have some strange weather.

"Global Warming" is caused from our selfish thing. We try to make more comfortable life and made a lot of stuff. In other hand we reduce a lot of natural resources. We started to think about how to reduce green house gas and carbon dioxcide. We made some reduce energy goods. But I think the most important thing is we should think about what we can do for the earth from living level. So I think "cool biz" is great. I hope Nihon University to do this plan, because the class rooms are too cold. And it is unneccesary.

I like the CG effect in this movie. Those effects made me to gaze the screen, and the music help to made me freeze. The story was very simple but during the movie I felt like “what will happen next?” It also includes family love. That worms me up from the cold pictures.

Finally, I went to watch this movie with my American friends. They said it’s ridiculous. I surprised but probably it is because it uses too many CG effect. Though I think this is great movie. I wanted them to think more about Environment because U.S. is the most reducing product. I hope this movie will make many people to think about the “Global Environment” more seriously.

Shakespeare in Love

When I heard this movies title, I thought this will be heavy and sad story. Because my images of Shakespeare is dark and sorrow. He wrote many famous story. Ofcource there are some comedy but in high school, I learned Shakespeare is famous for his 3 tragety story. This made me link Shakespeare to tragety.

This story was Shakespeare fallen love with rich merchant's daughter Viola. His love go along with one of his famous story "Romeo and Juliet". I read an article about this movie and it said we can find some stuff that reffers to Shakesphere's story. It was fun to know the background of the story. The theater was closed by epidemic, women couldn't be on the stage, marage should be admited by Princes Elizabeth etc. By the way, I liked Princes Elizabeth. She looks really powerful and the dialog "I know something of a woman in a man's profession. Yes, I know something about that." impressed me. She said this because she should work for the country like a man. Therefore I think she was hard to fall in love. For this reason, I think she didn't like romance. Also her father Henly the 8th had many wives is the other reason.

Finaly, I like this story. Probably it is because I like love romance story. But also I could learn the historic things from this movie. I think this story is light, so it is easy to watch. I think this is more entertainment thing. whether the person who knows Shakespeare or not can have fun.

The message

This film is about Islam leader Muhammed's life. Islam is one of the big religion which has many biliver in the world. Though since 9.11, it has gotten negative images. In this movie it tells positive side of Islam. It tells Muhammad protect women, poor people and slaves. Islam is not only religion, but it also includes the behave of living.

There's many movies about Jesus but I never heard the movie about Muhammad. In this movie, Muhammad didn't show his feature. It is because Islam prohibits to make idol. So it was little bit difficult to know when did he appear or not. I read an article about this movie and it was written that money of this movie comes from Morocco, Kuwait, Libya, and Saudi Arabia. They are all Islam nation. Probably this movie is "the message" from those Islam nation that they want to spread their idea. This movie had diffrent accent from American English so it was difficult to listen the dialog.

Finaly, I think this is great movie because we don't know so much about Islam. After 9.11, media tells only negative side of Islam. This movie makes us chance to know more about positive side of Islam and we could understand more about their spirits.

Ben Hur

Before I watch this movie, I belived that there's no relationship between friendship and religion. But in this movie Ben Hur belived his god so he had a conflict with his best friend Messala. I felt how religion power is strong.Most Japanese people don't belive in particuler religion. Therefore I don't care about what religion does my friends belive in. I remember when I studied at U.S.A last year, one of my friend asked me what is my religion. I answered I don't belive in particuler religion. Then he said "it's interesting" and start to talk about his religion. Most people in the world belive in some religion. But when I studied at U.S.A I never saw some　exchange student fought with other student because there religion are diffrent. For this reason, I want to belive that friendship can get over the religion wall.

Secoundly, I felt interesting that this movie don't put spotlight on Jesus Christ. Most of the Christian movie pay attention to Jesus Christ and tell how great he was. But in this movie it remark at Ben Hur, who live in same time with Christ. For this, I could understand how Judah's people suffer from Roman Empire and how storngly they belive in their god. This made me to understand the reason why Christ word helped Judah's people.

Finaly, I liked this movie. Because this movie don't just tell Jesus Christ is great. This movie tell us the back ground of the period that Jesus lived. So we can know more easily why Chirist was great.

The Ten Comandments

This story is from the Old Testament. The story is about Moses who thought he is the son of the Pharaoh learn actually he was the son of the Hebrew slaves. After he knew it, he starts to think about Hebrew slaves. He resist to Pharaoh and banish from Egipt. He found the place to live and he was living peaceful. One day he listen the voice of the god. The god said him to free the Hebrew people. Therefore Moses went to Egipt again but, The pharaoh Ramses resisted to free the Hebrew slaves. Moses fought against Ramases. Finaly Ramases let the Hebrew slaves free. After the Hebrew got freedom, the god leave "The Ten Comandments" to keep them.

I think this story wanted to tell about liberty. Slavery is still difficult problem. Now it is illegal to buy and sell people. Though in poverty country, they still have market of buying people. There's many organization to help them free, but it doesn't breakdown. There's a theory that advanced country made it hard to collapse the slave system. Advanced country need some material from divelopping country. Most divelopping countries people are poor. They need money to live so they work like a slave. Maybe if we want to collapse the slave system, we have to give up our comfortable life.

In this movie, it didn't finish at "Hebrew was free by Moses". After they got a freedom they became misrule. Free is great thing, we can do anything we want to do. Although it contains that we can also murder someone or steal somethings. If there's no rule, free is really scary thing. Therefore, god gave them "The Ten Commandments" to make them live safely.

Finally, it was fun to see the CG technique in that movie. I recognize how the technique improved these days.
